WiFi (IEEE 801.11) is a WAN technology implemented in TapNLink to support a broadcast range of up to 100 meters (depending on the environment). This channel is bidirectional and supports data rates up to 72 Mbps. TapNLink's WiFi channel is implemented as a primary channel for communication either:
- in an "itinerant network" for communication between the target system and other information appliances (smartphones, phablets, PCs, etc.).
- or in a permanent WAN for communication between the target system and a network gateway.
To facilitate the connection with smartphones in the itinerant network, the TapNLink WiFi module can be configured for automatic pairing using the included NFC interface. The NFC pair feature is compatible with platforms that use Android v. 4.0.3 and later versions.
TapNLink WiFi implementations are turn-key and qualified. They require no code development. They are implemented uniquely by configuration of the TapNLink module.
To ensure reliability and interoperability, IoTize modules implement WiFi in conformity with the standards imposed by the IEEE and National regulating authorities including the EU and the FCC.
