IoTize with Bluetooth Low Energy

Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE, a.k.a. Bluetooth Smart) is a mid range radio technology, broadcasting up to 15 meters (depending on the environment). TapNPass BLE channel is implemented as a primary channel for communication between information appliances (smartphones, phablets, PCs, etc.) and the target system. The channel is bidirectional and capable of data rates up to 1 Mbps. 

In an "Itinerant Network" environment where the target device is networked via a smartphone (for example), the BLE channel can also be configured for wake up and pairing using the Near Field Communication (NFC) channel. This results in advantages in both power consumption and security. This feature is only compatible with platforms implementing "active" NFC (reader) and smartphones/phablets operating under Android v4.0.3 or later versions.

Bluetooth interoperability

TapNPass BLE implementations are turn-key and qualified. They require no code development. They are implmented uniquely by configuration of the TapNPass module.

To ensure realiability and interoperability, TapNPass modules implement Bluetooth in conformity with standards of the Bluetooth SIG. The BLE implementations on TapNPass modules are tested for interoperability with mobile platforms running iOS and Android v4.0.3 and later versions.
